What it's all about?
Songs are perfect springboards to dive into a topic in a fun and engaging way, helping pupils to learn facts and retain key information. Try the following:
- Whatever the topic or song, play the performance track initially without the lyrics displayed. Present pupils with a series of questions that they need to find the answer to by listening carefully to the song. As they listen, ask them to write down bullet points which can then be created into flyers, news reports, fact files and posters as part of a topic.
- Watch the video and learn the song with Sharon Durant.
